Folayang faces Muay Thai great Parr in ONE: X

The battle of the veteran is on as Filipino mixed martial arts legend Eduard Folayang and Muay Thai great John Wayne Parr clash in ONE: X, ONE Championship's 10th-year anniversary event, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 26.

The bout will follow the ONE Super Series Muay Thai rules, a chance for both fighters to bring out the best in their bread and butter -- striking.

Folayang took a short breather from MMA after only taking home one victory out of his seven matches since his second showdown against Shinya Aoki in March 2019.

The Team Lakay stalwart also absorbed a unanimous decision defeat from his last outing in July last year against Zhang Lipeng.

Meanwhile, the upcoming bout marks Parr's swan song after also absorbing three straight losses since March 2018.

The 45-year-old Aussie Muay Thai legend likewise suffered a second-round technical knockout loss against Nieky Holzken of the Netherlands in his promotional debut in ONE on TNT 3 last March.

Prior to his downfall, Parr, a 10-time kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion, boasted a six-match win streak from July 2016 to December 2017.

Folayang, 37, also had a fair share of ups and downs in his MMA career despite being a two-time ONE lightweight champion.

He first lost the belt to Martin Nguyen in November 2017 and to Aoki in their second meeting.

Since then, the man known as the "Landslide" suffered multiple setbacks and also lost the trilogy against Aoki.

Folayang is set to bring back his classic wushu style in the Circle, having been a three-time gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games in 2003, 2005, and 2011.
