Vice presidential aspirant Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan and wife Sharon Cuneta completed their sortie in Tarlac City on Tuesday, Feb. 22 in a witty way.
Using the famous line in his wife's hit song "Bituing walang ningning," Pangilinan took to social media his gratitude to supporters in Tarlac for giving him, his wife, and the rest of Team Robredo-Pangilinan a warm welcome.
"Binalot niyo kami ni Sharon Cuneta sa hiwaga ng inyong pagmamahal (You enveloped me and Sharon Cuneta in the magic of your love)," he quipped.
During the campaign day, the aspiring vice president, accompanied by his wife, roamed the city and met with supporters, volunteers, and farmers--who are the center of his agenda if elected.
Cuneta, who is dubbed "megastar" of the showbiz industry, also had a share of witty remarks to the pink-clad supporters during the meet and greet event at the Tarlac State University.
“Mawala na ang ningning ng bituin ko sa pelikula, manalo lang ang Leni at Kiko sa totoo lang po dahil mas nakakaraming hindi hamak ang makikinabang at aangat ang buhay (I don't mind losing my fame in movies, as long as Leni and Kiko win because, as a matter of fact, more people will benefit and will have a better life),” Cuneta said as she concluded her short message to supporters and long-time fans in the venue.
During her speech, she also heeded to the request of some fans to take a selfie with her. She also sang a part of her famous song "Bituing walang ningning" for the fans and farmers in the venue.
The megastar also put her name on the line and vouched for the candidacy of her husband.
“Hinding hindi po kayo pababayaan ni . Papatayin ko po iyan dahil ako ang mapapahiya kasi dose pa lang ako pinagtitiwalaan na ang salita ko (Kiko will never abandon you. I'll kill him if he does, I am putting my name on the line because since I was 12, people trust in my words)," Cuneta said in jest.
Kahit na asawa ko iyan, kung wala akong tiwala diyan, magsasakit-sakitan na lang ako sa bahay (Even if he is my husband, if I don't trust him, I will just pretend to be sick, stay at home, and not join this campaign),” she added.
Cuneta also underscored the clean track record of the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem as well as their dedication to public service.
She said the Robredo-Pangilinan battle cry “sa gobyernong tapat, angat buhay lahat” and Pangilinan's slogan “Hello, Pagkain! Goodbye Gutom!” are not just mere empty rhetoric as the Robredo-Pangilinan already managed to deliver on these promises.
“Hindi lang po iyan slogan dahil nangangampanya sila. Iyan po ay galing sa puso at may plano na na solid (Those are not just mere slogans for the campaign. Those are from their hearts with solid plan),” she added.
