He was able to leave the Navy early by applying to use all his remaining personal and pre-discharge leave credits.

Under military guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an enlisted individual is not required to return to his unit when he uses his personal leave credits before his discharge.

While Park Bogum is out of the Navy, he is still under military service until his official discharge on April 30.

Before he left the Navy, Park Bogum served as a lecturer last Feb. 10 to 680 trainees about successful military life.

Park Bogum, who works in the public relations team of the Navy’s military band, spoke about at the event about the military service success case education.

Park, nevertheless, will still technically remain an active serviceman until the discharge date. He has been serving in the Navy since August 2020.

The 28-year-old star of the Korean dramas “Record of Youth,” “Reply 1988” and “Encounter,” enlisted in the Navy on Aug. 31, 2020 and is a member of the military band.

The official added, “The military recommends that soldiers acquire licenses as part of their self-development before they are discharged.”
