Chinese embassy to hold forum on ‘Winter Olympics’


The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, together with the Philippine Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce (PSRICC) will jointly hold an online forum with the theme “A Memorable Winter Olympics” on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Members of the Philippine delegation are invited to share their personal experiences in participating in the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China and to provide guests with insights on this spectacular occasion. The online event will also include special messages from top government officials and private organizations.

Among those attending the event are China Ambassador Huang Xilian and Amb. Francis Chua, founding chairman of the PSRICC. Other officials include Philippine Ambassador to Beijing, Jose Santiago Sta. Romana, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, FFCCCI President Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, and Lu Jianzhong, chairman Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, among others.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is the first international multi-sport event to be held as scheduled since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a successful practice of the new Olympic motto – “Faster , Higher, Stronger – Together.”

“As Chinese President Xi Jinping said: The Notion of ‘Together,’ championed by the Olympic Movement, is needed now more than ever and will encourage the world to create a brighter future,” said the PSRICC statement.
