Want to complete your academic requirements at your own pace and time?
To help ensure academic continuity for Senior High School (SHS) with unique learning preferences, a Makati-based school, is currently accepting final applications for those who wish to begin the academic year this March 7.
iACADEMY’s IT and Design school is offering SHS students an opportunity for them to complete their studies in 10 months (starting March to December 2022) at their own pace and time through its homeschool program called “DRIVE.”
“DRIVE” which stands for Design for Remote, Individualized, and Versatile Education was launched in August 2021. This is to allow flexible learning arrangements apart from the GOAL program or Guided Online Autonomous Learning offered in SHS and college students.
The main goal of the program is to cater to students with unique learning preferences and enable academic continuity through “self-paced, independent, and distance” learning.
iACADEMY President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vanessa Tanco explained that the institution sought to respond to a pressing challenge for students who may not have the time to comply with a strict schedule but would like to continue their education.
“Being a progressive education provider, we also saw this as an opportunity to innovate and accommodate students who learn and thrive better in a non-traditional classroom setup,” Tanco said.
While completely asynchronous, the program offers a maximum of 30 hours of consultation per subject and academic year to ensure students are guided accordingly and learning outcomes are met.
DRIVE Homeschool Program also makes use of interactive platforms like Gathertown and gamified classes to allow students to experience a virtual school despite being at home.
iACADEMY SHS Assistant Principal Paolo Noceda explained that this program will not just hand students modules and learning materials.
“DRIVE Homeschool program will cater to your needs and provide the necessary feedback to allow you to strengthen your skills,” he said. “It will also give you an experience which you will not see in other homeschool programs,” he added.
Likewise, parents and guardians who want to keep track of their child's progress may check their development through an online platform called NEO Learning Management System.
Through this platform, both parents and students may access the school activities, announcements, and other academic concerns.
Apart from this, consultations with success coaches and school administrators are also available.
On its 4th cohort, the DRIVE Homeschool program extends the invitation to SHS students who are looking to complete their academic endeavors this 2022.
Interested applicants may apply for Cohort D which begins this Feb. 2 until April 30, 2022.
The DRIVE Homeschool Program is offered for SHS students who wish to take Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), Multimedia Arts (MMA), Animation (ANI), and Software Development (SD).
