A woman was injured when an SUV collided with a 10-wheel truck loaded with cement at the corner of Quezon Avenue and D. Tuazon Street in Barangay Lourdes, Quezon City on Saturday morning, Feb. 19.
Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Hermogenes C. Portes Jr, officer-in-charge of the District Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) Traffic Sector 1 (TS-1), identified the driver of the SUV as Christian Mark Abaldona, 35, and the injured passenger as Bebelen Subing, 22.
The driver of the truck was identified as Christian Constantino, 20.
According to the police report, the SUV was traversing Quezon Ave. from G. Araneta Ave. heading to Manila when it collided with the truck travelling from Del Monte Ave. towards E. Rodriguez Ave. at about 3 a.m. The SUV’s right side was damaged upon impact.
Abaldona and Constantino were unharmed, while Subing was brought to the Chinese General Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Abaldona was found to be under the influence of alcohol while driving at the time of the accident, the police report said.
The collision caused heavy traffic along Quezon Avenue.
Police probers said they are still conducting further investigation.(Khriscielle Yalao)
