Presidential bet Gonzales counting on youth to turn tide of election

Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (PDSP) presidential candidate and ex-defense secretary Norberto Gonzalez is betting on young voters to help turn the tide in his favor come the May 9, 2022 elections.

I am hopeful that our youth will join the movement focused on the future, one that isn’t dependent on just one or two people but on a collective of intelligence and capability),” said Gonzales in a press statement on Thursday, Feb. 17.

Gonzales also hopes that the last few weeks before the elections in May can also show voters the difficulties of politics and elections in the Philippines.

(There are a few weeks left before the election. I hope this is enough time for us to show primarily the struggles of politics in the Philippines),” he continued.

“Tanggapin natin na hangga't hindi tayo kikilos bilang isang lipunan, bilang isang bansa, baka hindi po masyadong malayo ang ating mararating (Let’s accept that until we move as one society, as one country, we might not get very far),” noted Gonzales, calling back to his closing statement at the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) presidential debate last Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Gonzales's campaign team will be holding a mobilization rally on Saturday, March 5 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
