By barangay, Buli, the smallest, has the highest rate with 163 percent with 11,483 fully vaccinated individuals followed by Alabang with 133 percent (64,486); Tunasan, 127 percent (51,202); Ayala Alabang, 112 percent (18,293); Cupang, 111 percent (49,187); Putatan, 106 percent (71,568); Sucat, 92 percent (40,037); and Poblacion, 88 percent (77,122). There are 24,749 fully vaccinated individuals who are listed as “others.”

In addition, 84,896 individuals have already received their booster shots, or 22 percent of the target population.

In the 12-17 age group, there are now 32,951 who are fully vaccinated, or 59 percent of the target population of 55,391.

As of Feb. 15, a total of 50,909 12 to 17 years old have registered to get vaccinated in Muntinlupa, or 92 percent of the target.

In addition, there are 3,711 minors aged five to 11 years old who have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since the program started on Feb. 7.

This is equivalent to five percent of the target population of 68,198 in the age group. Of the target, 14,107, or 21 percent, have already registered for vaccination.

During the “Laging Handa” public briefing last Feb. 14, Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said in the NCR, the vaccination rate for the first dose is almost 100 percent while it is 99 percent for the fully vaccinated.

“We need to increase the booster doses in the NCR because it is an added protection if we have additional booster,” she said.

Cabotaje noted there are many areas in the NCR where the vaccination rate for senior citizens, or in the A2 priority group, is low.

Regarding the vaccination of kids below five years old, Cabotaje said, “We know that the vaccine gives protection. We also know that many among the two to five years old get sick. So, at the right time when there is already a vaccine, when it is recommended by experts, when the Health Technical Assessment Council (HTAC) has already studied it, when there is an emergency use authorization for the vaccine, the vaccination of below five years old can be given.”
