PEZA joins World of Free Zones


The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) have signed an agreement ensuring the latter access to all services available to member FZOs, including capacity building and best practices to further their role in nation building.

The agreement was signed by World FZO CEO Samir Hamrouni CEO and PEZA Director-General Charito B. Plaza. World FZO is an association of free zones, free zones associations and users of free zones and special economic zones in 140 countries. It provides one collective voice representing the interests of over 800 members around the world.

Based on the agreement, the World FZO and PEZA intend to establish the terms of their cooperation to allow PEZA related entities to become a voting member of the World FZO and have access to all the World FZO’s services.

To support PEZA and its related entities improve their efficiency, knowledge, capacity building, competitiveness, international visibility touching a broader audience and investors, through World FZO’s

service and network.

To assist member free zones to define their role in the nation’s economic development and provide them with an opportunity to play a leadership role

World FZO’s aim is to provide a platform for all the free zone stakeholders around the world to learn, grow and prosper by exchange of experiences, best practices and knowledge, through our various services such as events, training, advisory, certifications, publications, and B2B platform.

World FZO creates best-in-class standards for the free zone stakeholders that enhance the

ecosystem for both global and local markets; guidelines to establish and manage free zones; assists stakeholders working in the free zone environment and supports international organizations of free zones involved in trade and customs.

To extend its services to a wider cross-section of the free zone community, the World FZO commissioned the All-in-One Program, which enables all the entities of the General Directorate of FZ to join for free the World FZO and access the full range of services.

By joining the World FZO, PEZA will enable its members access to new services and enhance its free zones international visibility. This will allow national free zones attract new investors and partners; gain knowledge through the training; exchange experiences; and promote the country to the outside world, for the benefit of national economic growth and development.

The PEZA agree to participate in this All-in-One program on the terms and conditions in the agreement, including data base of is related entities. It will also allow PEZA to incorporate World FZO logo on the PEZA and its members website.

The program also updates World FZO Atlas with accurate information of all the free and special economic zones and provide PEZA with the World FZO publications.

To provide World FZO’s membership services and benefits (as detailed below) to free zone members of the PEZA to support them achieving their strategic objectives and enhance operational performance, as well as bring them new insights and learnings around best practices.

PEZA and its members king the mentioned activities, World FZO will allow each PEZA and its members in the All-in-One program to subscribe for membership starting this year.
