58% of minors 12-17 years old now fully vaccinated in Muntinlupa


The Muntinlupa City government reported that 58 percent of minors aged 12 to 17 years old are now fully vaccinated.

Data from the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) showed that as of. Feb. 13, a total of 32,311 12-17 years old have been fully vaccinated or 58.33 percent of the target population of 55,391.

By barangay, Tunasan has the highest full vaccination rate at 71 percent with 4,413 minors out of 6,256 followed by Bayanan, 68 percent (2,715); Sucat, 67 percent (3,834); Putatan, 66 percent (6,717); Cupang, 63 percent (3,669); Alabang, 56 percent (4,042); Poblacion, 45 percent (5,495), Buli, 43 percent (588); and Ayala Alabang, 13 percent (328). A total of 510 were classified as “others.”

As of Feb. 13, 50,797 minors aged 12 to 17 have registered with the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac), or 92 percent of the target population.

The Muntinlupa City government launched the vaccination of five to 11 years old last Feb. 7.

From Feb. 7 to 13, the city government vaccinated 2,687 kids or four percent of the estimated target population of 68,198.

Of the total, Barangay Putatan has the highest number of vaccine takers for the age group with 566, followed by Tunasan with 487, Alabang with 419, Poblacion with 365, Cupang with 326, Ayala Alabang with 147, Sucat with 125, Bayanan with 105, and Buli with 46. There are also 101 non-residents who were vaccinated during the period.

A total of 13,557 kids aged five to 11 have been registered for inoculation in Muntinlupa or 20 percent of the target.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi encouraged parents to register their kids for vaccination to give them protection against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
