Lacson, Sotto secure Mindanaoans' trust


Mindanaoans in the “Food Basket of the Philippines” are throwing their support and trust to Partido Reporma standard bearer Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and his running mate, vice presidential candidate and Senate President Vicente Sotto III saying they believe their tandem and their whole slate would help improve their province and meet their needs in agriculture, technology, peace and order, environment and education.

The Lacson-Sotto tandem campaigned in Mindanao over the weeked holding dialogues at the Lorenzo National High School in Mawab, Davao de Oro, where they were warmly received by around 2,600 supporters, including local officials, who wanted to know what are the goals, plans and programs of their team for Mindanao and the whole country.

Lacson has vowed to help expand the Free Irrigation Act he authored in the Senate, as he acknolwedge that farmers hardly feel the law owing to the lack of implementationon the ground.

He also unveiled his plan to increase the national budget for research and development specifically for the agricultural sector, as the funds could be used towards research against pests especially those plaguing the Banana Capital of the Philippines.

Former Cotabato Governor and Mindanao Development Authority chairman Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol, who is running as a guest candidate under the senatorial slate of the Lacson-Sotto tandem, attested to the ability of the slate to meet the needs of all Mindanaoans.

“This man may not smile but he has noble intentions of leading this country to a straigth road towards peace, development and progress,” Piñol said of Lacson.

Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib also rallied fellow Davaoenos to vote for Lacson, saying Lacson is the most qualified and “pinakamaayos” among all other presidential candidates in the upcoming May 2022 elections.

Jubahib also called on voters to end the cycle of voting for crooked politicians who are masters of graft.
