The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Province of St. Louise de Marillac-Asia Philippine Mission declared their support to presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo in the May 2022 polls.
In a statement, the religious congregation said they believe that Robredo is a Christian-Vincentian leader.
"We do firmly believe that VP Maria Leonor "Leni" Gerona Robredo is a Christian-Vincentian leader: truthful and fearless, compassionate and creative, transparent and sincere, empowering and unifying," their statement read.
The group also cited how the poor is at the heart of Robredo's clear and doable platforms such as good governance, integral human development, care for our common home, defense of the sanctity of life and human rights, economic recovery and political justice.
Aside from Robredo, the group also declared their support for the other candidates in her team "who stand for the same platforms and manifest the same love and respect for God and for the Filipino people."
The religious congregation pledged to collaborate with other institutions, groups, and individuals from all faiths and walks of life to "make our dream and desire for a better Philippines a reality."
The statement was signed by Sr. Maria Ana Rosario G. Evidente, Provincial Superior Province of St. Louise de Marillac-Asia.
