K-pop girl group BLACKPINK reached a new milestone when another of their videos reached one billion views on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s "How You Like That" dance performance video reached one billion views on YouTube at about 10:19 p.m. Korea standard time on Feb. 7.
The dance performance video breached the billion-view mark in one year and seven months since it was released on YouTube on July 6, 2020.
With this, according to the agency, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop artist to have a choreography video other than the main music video reach one billion views on YouTube.
The “How You Like That” dance performance video is BLACKPINK’s sixth video on YouTube to reach one billion views.
On Nov. 12, 2021, the music video for “How You Like That” garnered one billion views in one year and four months since it was uploaded on YouTube on June 26, 2020. This became their fifth music video to reach the mark.
Before this, BLACKPINK’s “As If It's Your Last” music video received one billion views on April 23, 2021, or in three years and 10 months after it was released on June 22, 2017.
On Oct. 13, 2020, their “Boombayah” music video got one billion views on YouTube, hitting the record in four years and two months since its release on Aug. 8, 2016.
BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” music video reached one billion views on Sept. 2, 2020, or nearly 17 months since it was released on April 4, 2019.
The group’s first music video to get one billion views on YouTube was “DDU-DU DDU-DU” on Nov. 11, 2019, or nearly one year and five months since its release on June 15, 2018. With this, they became the first K-pop group to get one billion views for a single music video on YouTube.
BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel has 72 million subscribers.
