Municipal hall in N. Iloilo ransacked

ILOILO CITY – Alleged burglars broke into the the municipal hall of Carles, a town in northern Iloilo province.

Police Lieutenant Johny Oro, deputy chief of Carles Police Station, said that a municipal government employee reported the incident Saturday, February 5.

Based on initial investigation, police found that the alleged burglars entered the Office of the Mayor, Accounting Office and Budget Office separately.

Initial items reported missing were five laptops and two external hard drives.

Police found no forcible entry and surmise that burglars easily gained entry at the main door of the Carles Municipal Hall since the door’s lock is already damaged.

Police were not able to find any CCTV footage since the CCTV was damaged and non-functional.

Without any CCTV footage, cops can only get latent prints at the crime scene including the employee who reported the incident to the police station.

Meanwhile, cops are still trying to find out who the possible burglars are.
