Here’s how Japan helps shape a better world

Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) Philippines launches the book, Contemporary Development Issues in the Philippines

The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) Philippines has published a book titled, Contemporary Development Issues in the Philippines – Lessons from JDS Fellows.

This first publication project of JDS Philippines is an alumni follow-up activity for the promotion of the scholarship project upon the JDS fellows’ return to the Philippines. The publication is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE)-JDS Follow-up Fund FY 2021.

Written by JDS returned-fellows and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines Office, the book raises contemporary development issues in the Philippines and provides policy recommendations, especially under the COVID-19 pandemic. The JDS fellows also share their experiences and lessons learned during their studies in Japan.

The book was edited by Dr. HARA Masatoshi (JICE-JDS Philippines country officer) and Dr. Francis Mark Quimba (JDS Philippines fourth batch alumnus).
