Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena “Bing” V. Guanzon on Saturday, Feb. 5, said she will not vote for actor Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla who is running for senator.

“Hindi ko iboboto si Robin Padilla. Maawa kayo sa Pilipinas ( I will not vote for Robin Padilla. Have mercy on the Philippines),” she said in a tweet, accompanied by the quote card of the actor about his thoughts on extra-judicial killings (EJKs).

On the quote card that Guanzon was commenting on, Padilla was quoted saying: “Kasama talaga ‘yan. Ang EJK kasama na ‘yan . Si Andres Bonifacio nga ang unang biktima ng EJK. Kasama na ‘yan ( That’s part of it. EJK is part of that. It was Andres Bonifacio who was the first victim of EJK. That’s part of it.”

For context, Padilla was interviewed recently at ANC’s Headstart wherein he was asked about his thoughts on drug war and EJKs.

Padilla is a staunch supporter of Pres. Duterte and his controversial war against illegal drugs.

After learning about the declaration of Guanzon, Padilla, in his official Facebook page, slammed the poll body’s former commissioner for allegedly violating the “court rules” and for destroying the image of the Comelec.

Padilla was pertaining to the release of the separate opinion of Guanzon on the disqualification cases filed against presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. Before her retirement, the former commissioner made public her decision as she accused Commissioner Aimee P. Ferolino of trying to delay the resolution on the case so that her vote will not be counted, and will not be part of Comelec’s official record.

The actor continued by saying that Guanzon must check their evidence that hero Andres Bonifacio was a victim of EJK.

He ended by saying: “Hindi ko po hinihingi ang boto niyo ( I am not begging for your vote).”
