Ako Bicol Partylist optimistic of retaining top spot in next poll surveys


No. 18 in the ballot, Ako Bicol Partylist is optimistic of its chances of getting the No. 1 spot anew in poll surveys for the partylist election.

The most recent survey conducted by polling firm Social Weathern Station showed Ako Bicol remaining the No. 1 choice among 173 partylist groups vying for congressional seats in the May 2022 polls.

Ako Bicol is the choice of 8.69 percent of respondents polled by SWS during its December 12 to 16, 2021 survey, it was gathered.

Currently occupying two seats in the House of Representatives, Ako Bicol has become a usual fixture as among the top partylist choices in the country.

During the 2016 national elections, it garnered over a million votes qualifying the partylist organization for the maximum three Lower House seats available then.

The most recent SWS survey also showed the following partylist groups among the leaders: ACT-CIS in second with 7.8 percent of votes; AGAP with 4.71 percent at No. 3; 4PS with 3.64 percent; An Waray, 3.37 percent and A-Teachers with 3.16 percent.

The December survey has an error margin of ±1 percent for national percentages, ±3 percent each for North Luzon and Visayas, ±4 percent each for South Luzon, North Mindanao and South Mindanao and ±6 percent for Metro Manila.

Based on current rules, the top 16 party-list groups in the coming May 9, 2022 polls will be guaranteed representation in the Lower House. A total of 59 seats are up for contention under the party-list system with each party entitled to a maximum of three seats based on the votes they generate.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) last December 29 released the final list of 173 qualified party-list groups for the coming May polls.
