P1.4 M shabu seized in QC buy-bust operations


A total of P1.4 million worth of alleged shabu was seized from nine suspects in two buy-bust operations conducted by the anti-illegal drug units of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

Operatives of the PDEA and La Loma Police Station (PS 1) arrested two suspects on Malaya St. Barangay Sta. Teresita in Quezon City at 2:15 p.m.

Police Lt. Col. Tyrone D.G. Valenzona, station commander of La Loma PS 1, identified the two suspects as Kingsley Sakilan, 31, and Rayson Gamatero, 33.

Police confiscated around 100 grams of alleged shabu with a market value of P1,360,000.

Also confiscated from the suspects were a cellphone, a blue Yamaha Nmax, and buy-bust money.

A separate buy-bust operation by operatives of the Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) and PDEA resulted in the arrest of seven suspects on Service Road, Barangay Unang Sigaw, Quezon City at 4:10 p.m.

Police Lt. Col. Alexander G. Barredo, station commander of Talipapa PS 3, identified the seven suspects as Nholy Jacinto, 48; John Marphy Dela Cruz, 27; Angelo Magdaraog, 20; Alvin De Vera, 32; Lionel Dela Cruz, 28; Rolando Quitua, 50; and Sandy Dela Cruz, 37.

Around 15 grams of alleged shabu worth P102,000 were confiscated by the police from the suspects, along with drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money.

All suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Khriscielle Yalao)
