ICYDK: ‘Kun Maupay Man It Panahon’ will be available for online streaming

After premiering at international film festivals in Switzerland and Canada, and at last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, Carlo Francisco Manatad’s “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather Is Fine)” will be available for online streaming.

Daniel Padilla as Miguel (Still from ‘Kun Maupay Man It Panahon’)

Starring Daniel Padilla, Charo Santos-Concio, and Rans Rifol, the film is set on a day after the rage of the typhoon, its central character Miguel is determined to seek refuge in the big city. He searches for his loved ones in the rubble that were once their community, even though another terrible storm is about to come.

“The film expresses an understanding of a devastation that has changed a ‘community’ and humanity as a whole,” Carlo says. “The film is a commentary in form of a satire and deals with the absurd generation we have become today.”

Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” was made by Black Sheep, Dreamscape, iWant, Quantum Films, and Globe Studios, together with Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire (France), AAND (Singapore), and KawanKawan (Indonesia).

In 2021, the film bagged major honors, including Cinema e Gioventù Prize at the 74th Locarno Film Festival and the Best Picture award at the MMFF 2021. From Feb. 9 to March 6, it will be streaming on Upstream, iWantTFC, and Ktx.ph. If you missed its local screening last December, here’s your chance to see it.
