In its latest advisory, SSS said "a significant number" of its employees have tested positive for COVID-19 or identified as close contacts of positive cases and were required to undergo self-quarantine.

"Some SSS Branches have to temporarily close or shorten their operating hours. The closures are also needed to allow decontamination procedures in their premises," SSS said.

"We request the kind understanding for our members and employers on the longer processing times of claims and applications due to the reduced onsite capacity for transactions," it added.

SSS urged its members and employers to instead transact using its digital platforms, such as the My.SSS Portal and the SSS Mobile App.
