JBC sets online interviews of 18 applicants for several Mindanao RTC judgeship posts

Eighteen applicants for the posts of regional trial court (RTC) judges in Mindanao are set for online interviews by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) starting Wednesday, Feb. 2, until Friday, Feb. 4.

In an announcement, the JBC said the online interviews will be conducted at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Set for interviews on Feb. 2 are Abraham S. Marcaban, associate city prosecutor in Pagadian City; Mundlyn G. Misal-Martin, a practicing lawyer from Cebu City; Andres B. Misson Jr., deputy provincial prosecutor in Sarangani; and Conchita D. Montecillo, a public attorney in Surigao del Sur.

To be interviewed on Feb. 3 are Jeffrey James G. Ocang, a private lawyer from Misamis Occidental; Minerva P. Pepino-Estremos, a municipal circuit trial court (MCTC) judge from Davao del Norte; Cholyn Mae M. Ruiz-Bonbon, a prosecutor from Zamboanga del Norte; and Fatima K. San Pedro-Eugenio, an associate provincial prosecutor in Sultan Kudarat.

On Feb. 4, set for interviews are Zarah Aguisando-Silvosa, an MCTC judge in Davao del Sur; Mylene Amerol-Macumbal, an MCTC judge in Lanao del Norte; Carol M. Morales, a municipal trial court (MTC) judge in Zamboanga del Sur; Sherryl B. Ogoy-Bernardo, clerk of court in South Cotabato; and Florendo B. Opay, a private lawyer from Siquijor.

Also to be interviewed on Feb. 4 are Maria Fe D. Orig-Maloloy-on, clerk of court in Davao City; Verna Kate B. Santos, a mediator-arbiter of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Region IX; Suzanne Margaret T. Sencio-Tabunda, a public attorney in Pagadian City; Regina F. Sison-Montiel, an MTC judge in Davao del Norte; and Marie Estrellita S. Tolentino-Rojas, a metroplitan trial court in the cities (MTCC) judge in Davao City.

The JBC is a constitutional office that accepts, screens, and nominates appointments to the judiciary. It is headed by Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.

The President can appoint a member of the judiciary only from the list of nominees submitted by the JBC.
