MABUHAY The Philippine booth at the Lao Food Festival

Award-winning coffee and chocolate from the Philippines took center stage at the Philippine booth in the Lao Food Festival, which started Jan. 25 at the Chao Anouvong Park in Vientiane. It runs until today, Jan. 29.

SGD Coffee Northern Sagada and North Star Upi, both awarded by the French Association for the Valorization of Agricultural Products (AVPA) in 2019 and 2020, respectively, are for sale at the booth. Malagos 100 percent unsweetened chocolate, which was awarded four Golds and one Bronze at the 2020 World Drinking Chocolate Competition organized by the International Chocolate Awards, is also featured at the booth.

Accompanying the coffee and the hot chocolate are Filipino delicacies such as turon, maja blanca, and pan de sal, as well as snacks from 7D dried mangoes, Oishi, Jack ‘n Jill, URC, and Regent Foods. The Philippine booth is also promoting beauty products and freshwater pearls.

The Lao Food Festival is the biggest annual event dedicated to food, handicrafts and souvenirs, and agricultural products in the Lao capital of Vientiane.
