P196K shabu confiscated in Las Pinas and Paranaque City


Three persons were arrested in separate operations in the implementation of health protocols and buy-bust conducted by members of the Las Pinas and Paranaque City police and confiscated from them around P196,520 worth of shabu on Monday (Jan. 24).

Southern Police District (SPD) Director, Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Joden Jordan, 26; Freddie Caballero, 38; both residents of Las Pinas City; and Mendy Logmao Banila, 30, of Paranaque City.

Macaraeg said members of the Las Pinas police were conducting “Oplan Galugad” and were strictly implementing the health protocols when they chanced upon Jordan who was not wearing a face mask along Aguirre Road, Pilar Village at about 6:00 p.m.

The police found in his possession one heat-sealed transparent sachet containing about 0.9 grams of shabu worth P6,120.

The SPD chief said Caballero was arrested by Las Pinas police at about 7:00 p.m. along Admiral Road, Barangay Talon Tres also for not wearing a face mask. Found in his possession was one gram of shabu worth P6,800.

In Paranaque City, Banila was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and confiscated from him were 27 grams of shabu worth P183,600.

Macaraeg said the arrested suspects are now detained and charged for illegal possession of drugs.
