MB Daily News Update

The level of risk for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Metro Manila is now down to “very high” from “severe”, according to the OCTA Research Group as new cases went down to 29,898, and recoveries were recorded at 36,763.

The Department of Health (DOH) also explained that accidents may happen during vaccination, as when a syringe needle broke causing vaccine to spill. This was caught in video that turned viral.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) likewise reported a sharp decrease in the number of violators of the government’s “no vaccination, no ride” policy.

The state weather agency disclosed that a low-pressure area (LPA) that is still over the Pacific Ocean will most likely hit Mindanao, and may cause floods and landslides.

These are among the top stories this Sunday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2022.

‘DAGYANG, ILOILO!’ – A statue-mural depicting the Dinagyang Festival is unveiled at the Esplanade in Iloilo City. Designed by Harry Mark Mark Gonzales, and created in collaboration with Himbon artists, the public art as Ilonggos only had to celebrate the festival in honor of the Sto. Niño through virtual events due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. (Tara Yap)
