Like what he had done in Manila, Domagoso also said he would pursue the creation of more jobs and livelihood as well as prioritizing the basic needs of the people such as housing and healthcare facilities amid the ongoing pandemic.

“Buhay, kabuhayan, trabaho, 'yan lang. Diyan lang iikot 'yung first two years of six years. Itatawid natin 'yung tao makaraos tayo sa pandemyang ito. Maraming nawalan ng trabaho (Life, livelihood, work, that's all. That's where the first two years of six years will revolve. We will help that person so we can survive this pandemic. Many lost their jobs) and I hope we can create more jobs the way we did in Manila,” Domagoso said during the Jessica Soho The Presidential Interviews on Saturday, Jan. 22.

“Galing ako sa hirap, iskwater ako. Mahirap maging iskwater sa sarili mong bayan (I come from poverty, I was an illegal settler. It's hard to be a squatter in your own town),” added Domagoso, who was also once a scavenger.

The Manila mayor also mentioned anew that he will continue the "Build, Build, Build" projects of the Duterte administration.

Domagoso, meanwhile, assured that he will provide the needs of students for their schooling.

“Kung ano ang ginawa namin sa Maynila na ang mga bata may tablet, ang mga bata may bandwidth o internet every month, ang mga teacher merong laptop, may bandwidth will do the same in the entire country (What we did in Manila where children have tablets, children have bandwidth or internet every month, teachers have laptops, have bandwidth will do the same in the entire country),” Domagoso said.

“Isusurvive natin ang pag-aaral. Ayokong isang henerasyon nagkaroon ng bakante sa edukasyon (We will survive the schooling. I don't want a generation to have an education vacancy),” he added.

Domagoso had earlier vowed that he will invest in improving the internet connectivity in the country if he wins the presidency.

“Now, can this thing be duplicated? Yes, it can. Can it be escalated? Yes, it can also. Because that’s the way to do it para mairaos natin ang pag-aaral ng mga bata sa panahon ng pandemya (to raise the quality of education of the children during the pandemic),” he said in a previous interview.

Domagoso has been repeatedly saying he ran for the highest position in the country to offer what they have done in Manila that are duplicable and scalable in terms of how they approach COVID-19 pandemic.
