Malabon City's active COVID-19 cases drop to 579


Malabon City's active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases have dropped to 579, the local government announced on Thursday, Jan. 20.

On Jan. 9, the city reported a total of 966 active COVID-19 cases.

According to the Malabon City Health Department, Brgy. Baritan topped the list with the most active cases with 103, followed by Brgy. Longos with 56 cases.

Other barangays with high active cases include Ibaba with 53, Tonsuya with 42, Tinajeros with 38, and Dampalit and Potrero with 36 cases each.

Brgy. Panghulo recorded zero active COVID-19 cases on Jan. 20.

Other barangays that recorded the least number of active cases were Niugan with four, Muzon with five, and Hulong Dulat with seven.

The city government recorded 499 individuals who have recovered from the virus.

However, five new deaths were recorded.

As of Jan. 20, Malabon has 24,528 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 23,260 recoveries, and 689 deaths. (Cherrylin Caacbay)
