The country on Thursday recorded 31,173 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

The number of active COVID-19 cases or patients who are currently sick nationwide is at 275,364, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Of the active cases, 8,424 are asymptomatic, 262,168 have mild symptoms, 2,979 are in moderate condition, 1,488 are severe, and 305 are critically ill.

There were 110 new deaths and 26,298 more recoveries. These figures brought the death toll and recovery tally to 53,153 and 2,995,961, respectively.

Most of the new cases were still found in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon, said the DOH.

Five laboratories did not submit their data to the DOH, the Health agency said.

“Pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19. Bagkus, dapat natin ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards at lagging magsuot ng facemask, mag physical distancing, at maghugas ng kamay (Everyone is reminded not to be complacent about COVID-19. Instead, we must continue to adhere to the minimum public health standards and always wear a facemask, do physical distancing, and wash our hands),” the DOH said.

“Sa oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, agad na mag-isolate at magpatest... Agad rin na magpabakuna upang makakuha ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa COVID-19 (As soon as you feel symptoms, immediately isolate and get tested. Get vaccinated immediately to get extra protection against COVID-19),” it added.
