LOOK: Local fashion label Charina Sarte makes it to Saks Fifth Avenue

The American luxury department store chain has been home to many luxury houses, from Valentino and Balenciaga to Gucci and Saint Laurent

Filipino fashion continues to penetrate not only international runways but also the global retail landscape. The latest to make that achievement is fashion designer Charina Sarte with her namesake brand as she is now featured on Saks Fifth Avenue’s e-commerce site.

A go-to designer of the Philippines’ fashion elite, Charina’s designs radiate “the country’s spirit of a sweet and endless summer.” Although she is now based in Paris, her works are still Filipino through and through with productions still happening in the country with the help of hard-working Filipino seamstresses.

Her piece, the Eyelet Babydoll Mini Dress, is now up at the department store’s website. The dress, which is part of her “Fille de la mer” collection, echoes her brand’s sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable movement.

Apart from her Saks Fifth Avenue and her store in Makati City, Charina’s works are also available at Le Bon Marche, Shopbop, Intermix, and Bloomingdales as per her Instagram account.
