“This safety seal is proof that we are serious about making our people safe as they visit the Regional Office, also this is just the start because we will be doing this at the Division and School level as well,” said Regional Director Carlito D. Rocafort.

The Safety Seal Certification from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) signifies that the DepEd RO XII is compliant with COVID-19 health protocols and safety standards.

SOCCSKSARGEN Region applied for the certification to provide assurance to the clients and general public of the office's compliance to the health and safety protocols, and to help the government in safely reopening the economy.

As stated in the DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01, series of 2021, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) directed the said Departments to issue the necessary joint memorandum circular to detail requirements to secure a Safety Seal which shall include the adoption of the StaySafe.ph application and generation of its QR Code to be displayed in all entrances.

The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme that affirms that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government and uses or integrates its contact tracing with StaySafe.ph.

Rocafort said that having a safety seal is important to ensure that the establishments comply with the requirements of the government when it comes to ensuring public safety. “That is why this safety seal makes everything worth it,” he added.
