The number of admissions nationwide related to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections remain lower than that experienced when the Delta variant of the virus struck, although Metro Manila continues to remains at a “very high risk”.
Aaccording to education officials, face-to-face classes are likely to be expanded further this February in the elementary and high school levels with vaccinated teachers, personnel, and students in the classroom, according to the Department of Education (DepEd).
With vaccination rate among college students at a high rate, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) reported that colleges and universities in Metro Manila will also likely start face-to-face sessions next month.
Meanwhile, in his Talk to the People on Monday night, Jan. 17, 2022, President Duterte repeated his appeal to the unvaccinated to have themselves protected against COVID-19, and have themselves inoculated, reiterating that the recent deaths related to the coronavirus were among the unvaccinated.
