Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez signed an ordinance appropriating a P10-billion budget for the operating expenditures of the city government this year.

He also signed a measure regulating the movements of unvaccinated individuals under the alert level system.

The two ordinances were passed by the City Council.

Olivarez said the City Council approved his proposed budget of P10 billion to fund the COVID-19 response and the 3rd tranche salary increase of city employees.

Ordinance No. 171 Series of 2021 also states that additional funding shall be set aside for the Ospital ng Paranaque for the purchase of vaccines, drug, laboratory supplies and medical equipment; repair, maintenance and improvements of existing government facilities; and implementation of new development projects.

In signing Ordinance No.195 Series of 2022, Olivarez emphasized the need to regulate the movement of every resident in the city because there are a number of individuals who opt not to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The National Capital Region (NCR) was placed under Alert Level 3 in view of the rising active COVID-19 cases
