Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar and French Ambassador to the Philippines Michelle Boccoz have forged a partnership to develop the country’s dairy sector through a joint declaration that would strengthen the agricultural partnership of the two countries.
The partnership was strengthened through a virtual meeting of the two officials wherein both have committed support to further improve the agriculture sector in the Philippines, particularly the dairy sector.
DA Sec. William Dar said they also sought the assistance of France to obtain vaccines that may help the government’s fight against the African Swine Fever (ASF), continuously spread by traders selling infected pigs.
He assured the public that the department would strengthen the implementation of the repopulation program covering the restructuring of the backyard and breeder-based industry.
Dar said they the department is looking forward to to the implementation of agreed projects between both countries and ensures that agencies concerned will maintain an open line with their French counterparts.
