400 indigents benefit from PCUP’s ‘mini caravan’ in Mandaue


Food packs consisting of canned goods, noodles, and five-kilo rice were given to 400 indigents in Mandaue City, the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) in Visayas said.

In coordination with the city of Mandaue and the Housing and Urban Development Office (HUDO), PCUP Visayas successfully carried out the distribution of food packs at Brgy. Paknaan in Mandaue City on Saturday, Jan. 15 through its mini caravan.

PCUP Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Undersecretary Alvin Feliciano said the activity was geared towards helping the urban poor communities affected by the recent onslaught of typhoon Odette.

Meanwhile, in its year-end report, the Commission said that it has extended help to about 10 million indigents in 2021 through its services in line with asset reform, human development and basic services, livelihood, and employment.
