Police officer who allegedly raped a student nabbed in QC


Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Kamuning Station 10 (PS 10) personnel arrested a police officer who allegedly raped a 17- year-old female student inside her room in Kamuning, Quezon City on Saturday evening, Jan. 15.

Police Lt. Col. Alex Sonido, PS 10 commander, identified the suspect as Chief Master Sgt. (PCMS) Galahad Altajeros, 48, from Brgy. Batasan Hills in Quezon City and currently assigned at the Crime Laboratory Office of QCPD.

According to the police, the suspect who was a regular customer at the eatery of the victim's aunt, Theresa Raganas, 35, volunteered to accompany the two to their house in Kamuning at around 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, Raganas left Altajeros and the victim in the living room.

The victim then asked the suspect to leave as she was supposed to sleep but the latter refused and forced her inside her room where he did the said criminal act.

Raganas discovered the incident after checking her niece's room and immediately reported it to the PS 10.

Responding officers arrested the suspect inside their house after he was identified by the victim.

Altejeros will be charged for Rape and violation of Republic Act 7610 or the "Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitaiton and Discrimination Act" before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office, police said.
