Mandaluyong City records over 2,000 active COVID-19 cases


Mandaluyong City now has 2,087 active COVID-19 cases after recording 115 new infections, the local government announced on Sunday, Jan. 16.

The city previously recorded 1,972 active cases on Jan. 15.

Barangay Highway Hills topped the COVID-19 tally with 300 active cases. It was followed by Barangay Ilaya with 242; Hulo, 173; Mauway, 152; Addition Hills, 135; Plainview, 112; Wack-Wack, 105; Poblacion, 86; Bagong Silang, 74; New Zaniga, 69; Malamig, 65; Old Zaniga, 58; Hagdan Bato Libis, 53; Hagdan Bato Itaas, 52; and Vergara, 50.

Barangay Drive and Namayan both have 45 active cases; Barangka Itaas, 44; Mabini J. Rizal, 35; Buayang Bato, 33; Pagasa, 32; Barangka Ibaba, 26; San Jose, 25; Daang Bakal, 18, and Pleasant Hills, 15.

Meanwhile, Barangay Burol has the least number of active cases with only 10.

In a Facebook post, Mandaluyong City Public Information Office reminded those residents who have mild symptoms to notify Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) first before heading to the hospital for check-up or admission.

As of Jan. 16, the city has logged 29,736 confirmed cases, 27,069 recoveries, and 580 deaths.(Cherrylin Caacbay)
