Sexy actress Ivana Alawi has revealed she contracted COVID-19.

In her recent vlog, the popular online content creator shared she got infected after her mom was tested positive for the same virus.

Ivana said that she kept a low profile on social media due to this health problem.

She related that aside from her and her mom Fatima, her brother Hashim also manifested COVID-19 symptoms.

Ivana said she doesn't know how her mom got infected, considering her family is cautious since the pandemic started.

The Kapamilya star is thankful that she and her loved ones are already vaccinated.

"It's no one's fault. Walang dapat sisihin. Kasi nag follow naman ng protocol, naka mask, nag isolate."

Ivana shared that when her mother started having COVID-19 symptoms, she and her other siblings started to isolate themselves.

"You have to take responsibility, you have to take accountability," she said. "If you're exposed or if you're feeling not well huwag ka ng lumabas at mag antay ka ng five days, mag PCR (test)."

Among the symptoms that Ivana experienced included difficulty in breathing, body aches, and stuffy nose. She also lost her sense of smell.

Ivana advised her followers to keep safe by wearing their face masks.

"No one is above the law. Tandaan niyo yun, kahit sino ka man, kung hindi ka law, hindi ka pwede mag-inarte at hindi ka pwede mag break ng law. Get that in your mind. As soon as you feel symptoms, you feel exposed, don't let anyone go through what you're going through or what others have been through kasi yung iba namamatayan."

Ivana said that her family's case is not severe, and her youngest sister Mona, who has comorbidity, was spared from it.

The Alawi family also shared their messages to those who are going through the same battle.

Mama Fatima said: "Wag niyo masyadong damdamin kasi magiging negative sa katawan ninyo yun. Para di sila ma de-depress. Kasi pag depress ang tao ang impact nun lalo silang magkakasakit, lalong bibigat yung dala nila. Take it easy, kumain, matulog ng tama, and magdasal. We have to be responsible sa safety ng iba, hindi lang safety natin."

"Whether positive or not, we should take the proper precautions pa rin," Hashim said.

Amari, Ivana's eldest sibling, pointed out the importance of getting vaccinated and sanitizing things.

Mona prays that everyone who are tested positive of COVID-19 will get through with it.

She also suggested others check up on their friends, family, and loved ones.

"Let them know you're there for them at a hard time like this. Try to give support however you can."
