Apart from the school health breaks declared by local government units (LGUs), the Department of Education (DepEd) announced the suspension of classes in the National Capital Region and the Calabarzon area (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) amid the surging number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections being experienced.

The National Task Force (NTF) on COVID-19 nevertheless provided some ray of hope in the fight against the virus as it announced that its 2021 target to fully vaccinate 54 million Filipinos has been achieved.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also reported that there were only a few reports of people experiencing adverse reactions after getting COVID-19 jabs.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court announced that it was postponing the 2020-2021 bar exams to Feb. 4 and Feb. 6.
