Light will be playing in his third season in the league after his former squad Work Auster Force secured an MPL slot through the qualifiers in Season 7.

His team was then acquired by TNC Pro Team ML in Season 8 after the MPL transitioned to the franchise-based arrangement. Most of TNC players, including Light, were released in the off-season following a forgettable campaign that saw TNC finish dead last with only four wins to show in 14 outings.

"The light has led him to a new home. Please welcome, Light! We consider Light a strong and talented mechanical player. We believe that his addition to our roster will shine our path to the championship. He will be playing the Roaming position," said RSG in a statement.

The former Work Auster Force roamer will be a big boost to RSG which still has its potent lineup from Season 8. The last season’s newcomers made a good account of itself after making it to the playoffs of Season 8 behind the bright minds of its coach Brian “Panda” Lim and super rookie Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto.

Veterans EJ “Heath” Esperanza, Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog, Kenneth “Kenji” Villa, Arvie “Aqua” Antonio and Dexter “Exort” Martinez provided the stability and leadership to the likes of Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo and Eman “Eman” Sangco as the squad turned head in its first season.

RSG even earned the tag of “Kingslayers” in S8 after big wins against powerhouse squads of Bren Esports, Omega Esports, and Onic Philippines in the regular season.

RSG, which is looking to improve its 5th-6th place finish in S8, has yet to announce its full roster for Season 9 but the team will be without gold laner Iy4knu who will take a break from the professional scene for the upcoming season.
