P1.1-M shabu seized; 6 arrested in buy-bust operations in Taguig


Operatives from the Southern Police District (SPD) and Taguig police have arrested six persons and seized 164.3 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1.1 million worth in four buy-bust operations in the city on Jan. 11.

According to SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, at 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 11, the Taguig police drug enforcement unit (DEU) arrested Halil Abo, 26, tricycle driver.

Seized from Abo were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 25.5 grams with an estimated value of P173,400 and P200 buy-bust money.

At 7:25 p.m. the SPD DEU, District Intelligence Division and District Mobile Force Battalion arrested Wynlove Buco, 38, and Eusebio Baia Jr., 43, in a buy-bust operation along Catleya Street, Samama Phase 2 in Napindan, Taguig.

The police confiscated eight plastic sachets of shabu weighing about 76.8 grams with an estimated value of P515,400 and P500 buy-bust money.

At 10:05 p.m., the Taguig police DEU conducted a buy-bust operation on Road 9, Maguindanao Street, Bgy. New Bicutan, Taguig and arrested Raffy Lumenda, 44.

Recovered from him were two plastic sachets containing shabu weighing about 50.8 grams with standard drug price of P345,440 and P200 buy-bust money.

At 11 p.m. two male suspects were arrested along MLQ Street,Purok 5, Bgy. Lower Bicutan, Taguig in an operation by the Taguig police DEU. They were identified as Alvin Co, 36, and Jessie Christopher Cruz, 38.

The police recovered two plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 11.2 grams with a value of P76,160 and P200 buy-bust money.

All the drugs seized were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and the suspects are under the custody of SPD and Taguig police.

The police will file cases against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“We have to stop these criminals from destroying the future of our country and our people. Let us all unite in the fight against illegal drugs and other illegal activities,” said Macaraeg.
