Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz revealed she has tested positive for COVID-19.

In an Instagram story posted Wednesday night, the 30-year-old weightlifter admitted to having contracted the virus through a photo of an email letter confirming her positive result.

“Kahit po ako, nag-positive na po,” the Zamboanga native wrote.

Diaz also urged people to take extra precautions and follow the health protocols as cases continue to surge in the country due to the Omicron variant.

“Ingat po tayong lahat. Magpalakas at sundin lahat ng health protocols,” she wrote.

She also advocated for vaccination, having gotten her booster shot based on an Instagram reel on Jan. 4.

Last month, Diaz flew to Cebu City to bring relief goods to Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas who were affected by typhoon Odette.

Diaz has been training extensively for a busy calendar year that includes the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in May and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September.

She has also set her sights on another Olympics stint in Paris in 2024.
