The Antipolo City government’s Molecular Laboratory, located at Sitio Cabading, has been temporarily closed until Jan. 17 due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection among its personnel.
Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares, in a Facebook post, said that the city government’s Molecular Laboratory that processes specimens from COVID-19 tests done on individuals, residents, and non-residents who availed of the free testing being offered by the provincial and city government through its Ynares Center Mega Testing Site and other facilities, has been temporarily closed starting Jan. 11 until Jan. 17.
The temporary suspension of operations was due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections among the laboratory’s health personnel including its pathologists.
With the seven-day closure of the molecular laboratory, delays in the processing and release of the results of the (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)RT swab tests on individuals who availed of the swab testing through the provincial and city government’s testing facilities, should be expected.
Ynares said the laboratory, which has been operational for around two years now, has been helping the city government in its continuing fight against COVID-19.
In the same post, Mayor Ynares appealed for the public’s understanding.
