MB Daily News Update

The total number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines surpassed the three million-mark, even as the daily number of new cases went down by more than 5,000 from the previous day to 28,007.

And with the raging Omicron-fueled COVID-19 surge, the government said it was setting a vaccination target of 90 million Filipinos by June 2022.

A Manila Bulletin (MB) report on the alleged hacking of Commission on Elections (Comelec) servers drew sharp reactions from the current field of presidential aspirants, as well as officials of both Houses of Congress.

PhilHealth has also vowed to settle all unpaid hospital claims in six months.

These are among the top stories this Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2022.
