Maxene Magalona marked today, Jan. 11, her fourth wedding anniversary by sharing a throwback photo where she tried on her wedding dress from Vera Wang for the first time.
On Instagram, Maxene said it was her mother-in-law Millet Mananquil, mother of her husband Rob Mananquil, who made her dream came true.
Maxene thanked her mother-in-law for being so kind and generous. Her full post:
"This was the first time I got to try on my wedding dress from @verawangmanila.
"I remember feeling so elated and blissful, seeing myself wear something so delicately beautiful. I’ve always dreamt of wearing @verawang @verawanggang on my wedding day, and it was my sweet mother-in-law @milletmartinezmananquil who made that dream come true.
"I just want to offer her my sincere gratitude for being the kind, generous and selfless soul that she has always been to the lucky people in her life. We have all been touched and moved by her, and I just want to post this photo so that she can see how happy she has always made me.
"I’m so blessed that I met her and felt her love and acceptance from the very beginning.
"P.S. Thank you so much to ate Amalia of @verawangmanila for helping me with all my fittings and adjustments!"
Maxene and Rob got married in a beachfront ceremony at the Shangri-la Resort in Boracay on Jan. 11, 2018.
They lived in Bali, Indonesia. Later, Maxene decided to return to Manila and resumed her showbiz career.
Then Maxene trended on social media after she deleted the photos of her husband and dropped his surname from her name.
Just two years ago, also on Instagram, Maxene honored Rob who chose to stay by her side and accept her.
"Honoring my dear husband @robmananquil who has seen me at my absolute worst and still chooses to stay by my side and accept me for all that I am. I sincerely apologize for all the times that I unconsciously projected my traumas onto you.
"Please know that I never meant to cause you pain and suffering. Thank you for your seemingly endless patience. Thank you for being my conscious partner. Without you, I wouldn’t have had the courage to continue.
"I am eternally grateful for your precious energy that brings so much magic into my life. I consider you as God’s greatest gift to me as your love has truly been the greatest form of therapy for my healing. Thank you for opening my eyes, for awakening my spirit and for making my soul sparkle."
"To all the brave souls who choose to stick it out and make things work with their partners who suffer from mental health conditions instead of giving up when things get really tough and challenging, I salute each and every one of you.
"On behalf of those who struggle with mental health problems, thank you so much. Words are not enough to express our utmost gratitude. God bless your kind hearts.
