DOST-I iSTART holds consultation meeting with pilot municipalities of Pangasinan


The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Region I held a two-day consultation meeting with six pilot municipalities of Pangasinan in relation to its innovation, Science, and Technology for Accelerating Regional Technology-Based Development (iSTART) program.

The consultation meeting was a multi-sectoral approach to meet the objectives of the program in the area of developing a technology-based development plan for the agri-based, manufacturing, and service sectors through various strategies, formulation of a Science, Technology, Innovation (STI)-based policy, and development of a communication plan.

DOST-I Regional Director Dr. Armado Q. Ganal highlighted the significance of the program to the development of the municipality and reiterated the intensive coordination and cooperation of the six pilot local government units (LGUs) in the implementation of the iSTART program.

Ganal also assured the full commitment of the DOST-I iSTART Team to support, provide, and extend the necessary science and technology assistance and intervention to all the six pilot municipalities as part of the implementation of the i-START program.

The i-START program aims to support the development of LGUS by accelerating regional growth through science, technology, and innovation.
