IMUS CITY, Cavite – A 101-year-old female resident got her coronavirus disease (COVID-19) booster shot through the city government's house-to-house vaccination program.
In a Facebook post on Monday (Jan. 11), Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi shared photos of centenarian, Atty. Auring Abella, who served as a councilor in Imus from 1964 to 1967.
The local government unit is reiterating its call for residents to get vaccinated as the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit reported that over half of the city's active COVID-19 cases are unvaccinated individuals.
As of January 9, the city has recorded 1,375 active cases, with 486 having no symptoms, 884 with mild symptoms, and five patients experiencing moderate symptoms.
The city has yet to record any severe and critical patients amid the current surge in active cases.
