BIR taps MyEG’s online payment service


The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has partnered with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and MyEG for a payment service that allows taxpayers to pay their tax dues online.

In a statement released by MyEG on Tuesday, Jan. 11, the electronic solutions firm announced that the BIR is expanding its available payment channels in time for the renewal of permits, licenses and several registration fees for 2022.

"One of which is paying their Annual Business Registration Fee with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR),” the company said. “Paying taxes via the MyEG’s Tax ePayment is easy, convenient, and hassle-free.”

MyEG said that “all taxpayers need to do is to simply log in at www.myeg.ph and choose among the different BIR form series and tax type they need to pay and will be redirected immediately to the MyEG’s payment gateway where they can choose their preferred payment option.”

“This entire process will only take less than a minute and payments are posted real-time,” the company added.

BIR Philippine taxes that can be paid via MyEG includes Withholding Tax, Value-Added Tax, Percentage Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax, and Corporate Income Tax, among others.

"This innovation is part of our third solution providers to explore ways so that taxpayers can file and pay their taxes while remaining in the safety and security of their homes or their offices,” BIR Deputy Commissioner Lanee David said.

“This effort is much appreciated as it compliments BIR’s efforts to enhance our key services, electronic services, and offer the public different options to help them comply with their tax obligations online,” she added.

Meanwhile, Ann Margaret Saldaña, MYEG Philippines chief executive cfficer, said the company has been a leader in automating government services both in the Philippines and in Malaysia.

“Through this partnership with BIR and DBP, we are able to connect the taxpayers to our payment channels nationwide while we remain deeply committed in enabling government institutions to provide the ease of doing business,” Saldaña said.

The BIR Tax ePayment System was officially launched in October 2021.
