Three new police chiefs assigned to SPD


The Southern Police District (SPD) announced the appointment of three police chiefs for Las Pinas, Muntinlupa and Taguig as part of the ongoing Philippine National Police (PNP) reorganization effective Jan. 8.

According to SPD Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, in an order released by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management in Camp Crame, Col. Jaime Santos will be the new chief of police of Las Pinas City replacing Col. Rodel Pastor.

Macaraeg said Col. Angel Garcillano will be the new police chief in Muntinlupa replacing Col. Melecio Buslig Jr.

Col. Celso Rodriguez was replaced by Col. Robert Baesa as the new chief of police of Taguig City.

He said the new assignment of the three new police chiefs was part of the of the PNP program to give others a chance to hold a higher position which is one of the requirements for an official to get promoted.

“To our new chiefs of police, I look forward that your full cooperation with the SPD leadership especially that the national and local election is near and the COVID-19 threat is still around, “ Macaraeg said during the turnover ceremony held at the SPD headquarters.
