This online education platform offers career development planning and more

Even help you finish your master's degree

Online distance learning (ODL) has proved to be quite the challenge. And with the whole world going through ups and downs when it comes to COVID-19, it seems that ODL will be the chosen platform in the mean time.

Edukasyon.ph, an Edtech online platform, continues to empower students as they go through this challenging phase in our lives. The organization relaunched their website, making sure that it’s more user-friendly and inspiring for more FIlipinos to finish schooling no matter what scenario they are in.

And this redesign has done well with an increased engagement, with registered users doubling to a total of 800,000 students to date. On site, one can go through information on education, job placements, and personal development.

Founder Henry Monte-Muñoz tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, “We've really focused on building high quality, relevance, engaging content and features that are completely free.” Over 2,000 articles online that are free for registered users, they also offer free quizzes to aid users on what they’re next steps should be such as what short courses to take.

The next phase

In the line up are premium features, Muñoz tells us more below. “So, on the first step, which is to know myself more, we're partnering with some of the leading assessment providers in the world to offer a premium assessment with a much longer quiz.”

Step two lets one explore options with counselors and career development professionals. “We will be offering bespoke individual sessions. You know, for parents and children who want to go through the results of an assessment. It kind of gives you a couple of options, and then you can actually work with a professional to interpret it.” These professionals have 5 to 30 years of experience when it comes to giving career guidance.

The third step involves upskilling. ”We have a team that looks out for the best premium courses out there, and we curate them for the Filipino parents and their child.”

For ages 12 and up

Muñoz also adds that children as young as 12 years old can log in and sign up. “That’s when you start making decisions, like ‘I’m in junior high school. I should start thinking about what I’ll have to do. So 12 and above is kind of where we typically see traction.”

From there, it peaks to between 16 to 20 years old. “As you start college and towards the end of college, you will tend to have a better idea of which one to do so the peak is kind of like maybe the mid to late teens.”

But aside from those who dream of finishing college, Edukasyon.ph also offers guidance for those who wish to take up masters and PhDs, and even studying abroad. “I think 20 percent of our traffic is over the age of 25. The oldest is probably in their 40s. We also have parents who look for their kids.” The organization listens to all that wishes for better lives for every Flipino, including indirect individuals such as parents and guardians.
