Mandaluyong surpasses 1,000 active COVID-19 cases

The Mandaluyong City Health Department announced that the city has reached a total of 1,018 active COVID-19 cases, with 273 new cases recorded on Saturday, Jan. 8.

The city health department previously recorded 770 active cases on Friday, Jan. 7.

The barangays with the most active cases on Jan. 8 were Highway Hills with 156 cases, Hulo with 141 cases, Ilaya with 95 cases, Plainview with 72 cases, and Old Zaniga with 70 cases.

Barangay Harapin ang Bukas recorded zero active cases, while Barangay Pag-asa recorded only two cases.

Both barangays Daang Bakal and Vergara each had three active cases, and both barangays Burol and Hagdan Bato Itaas each had four active cases.

Barangay Addition Hills had the most number of recovered COVID-19 patients at 2,876, followed by Barangay Highway Hills with 2,799 recoveries.

Data from the city health department also recorded 45 active COVID-19 cases as of Jan. 8 in the city’s national institutions, all of which come from the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH).

The city government reminded anew its residents to isolate themselves in their homes, and contact their respective barangay health centers or COVID-19 hotlines if they have been exposed to the virus or are experiencing symptoms.

For the general public, the city government urged its residents to continue wearing face masks, regularly wash their hands, and disinfect.

Mandaluyong city calculated 27,936 total confirmed cases, 26,342 recoveries, and 576 deaths as of Jan. 8.
