Guimaras only allows entry, exit of fully vaccinated persons


ILOILO CITY — Starting January 10, only fully vaccinated persons are allowed to enter and to exit the island province of Guimaras.

This was after Governor Samuel Gumarin released Executive Order No. 2022-003 to preempt the possible sure of COVID-19 cases with the threat of the Omicron variant.

But if persons who are unvaccinated really want to enter the island, they must present swab test results they are not infected with COVID-19. The test must be taken not later than three days before the date of travel.

This also applies to leisure travel, which is allowed if persons have prior or existing bookings.

But only fully vaccinated individuals are allowed in hotels or accommodation establishments in Guimaras but limited only to 50 percent of the venue’s capacity.

In Gumarin’s newest executive order, it also states that all establishments are open except for entertainment and amusement venues.

Food establishments and resorts can cater dine-in services for fully vaccinated individuals only provided it would not exceed 50 percent of the capacity.

Business establishments may operate from 4 a.m. until 8 p.m. except for pharmacies that may open until 10 p.m.
